are closer here somehow
closer together
and always around
no hiding away
from that part of yourself
that trusts and doubts
and asks all these questions
am I real
is this real
down on the ground
here on the land
the spirits are around
you can hear them in the
birds and the night sounds
you can see them in the trees
in the sound of the sea
and the blowing of the wind
you can feel them
in your heart
if it is open
you hear them
and you smell them
